Case Studies - Staper

Starch Holding Tanks Staper, a company working within the paper industry, asked us to perform some patch repairs to the epoxy resin lining to three of their starch holding tanks.

One area In particular that needed attention was the area surrounding the tank agitators. At one point a section of one tank around the agitator had been removed and replaced with a metal plate. Staper had intended to do the same for the other two tanks but after checking the areas in question we informed Staper that we would be able to apply a patch repair to the lining instead of them having to replace them. This gave Staper a considerable financial saving and reduced the tanks downtime.

We grit blasted and primed the patches and then covered the patches with two layers of chemically resistant resin. This was completed in a single day.
