| Bund containment area. A chemical factory in Poland had a requirement for protecting the concrete of a bund containment area. The lining to be used had to be resistant to Oleum (fuming sulphuric acid).
The bund area was an existing structure and prior to applying the lining we had to make localised repairs to the concrete that had been subjected to chemical attack with an epoxy based material, followed by a primer coat and two coats of chemical resistant lining material. As the finished surface would have been very smooth, we added non-slip particles to the final coat to avoid a potential slip hazard. |
