OCEAN PRODUCTS
SEYCHELLES LTD.
We were contacted by Ocean Product Seychelles Ltd who operate a
Tuna Oil manufacturing company in Victoria, Seychelles and required
their whole factory be bought up to EU/FDA Food Industry Standards.
The factory was indoors on dockside with ambient temperatures 34-40°c
exterior and internal operating temperature of 22°C, with roof working
temperatures of in excess of 50°C. All had their own repair and
maintenance problems.
We were asked if it was at all possible to bring all areas
with different operating temperatures, up to the required standards,
taking into consideration the oily content of the produce to process.
They had contacted companies across the globe who, although would
supply the materials, were unable to offer the installation service
and technical support that Ocean Products wanted to enable them
to carry out the works. The timeframe for completion would be a
maximum of 2 weeks during their maintenance shutdown period.
We carried out the following:
Roof Panels – Remove all traces of the silicon
adhesive and aluminium backed bitumen tape, Clean, Prime, In-fill
and seal all accessible joints and voids to create a smooth seamless
waterproof joint with the properties of an 520% elongation to counteract
any roof movement.
Corrosion Areas – Manually clean areas of
heavy rusting and severe corrosion, we then applied two coats of
special rust converting zinc based primer, filled voids and joints.
Internal Surfaces/Walls and Ceiling – Fill
internal wall and ceiling panel joints with flexible resin, then
coated all internal walls with multiple application of easy to clean,
food grade, solvent free resin to give a seamless hygienic finish,
which enhanced the clean up stage of the production.
Laboratory Walls/Window Frames – Following
the cleaning of corroded areas and application of rust converting
resin primer and sealing of window frame joints with a flexible
resin filler, we then applied multiple applications of an easy clean,
food grade, solvent free resin coating.
Laboratory Floor – On conclusion of thorough
cleaning and degreasing, the surfaces were abraded, then we applied
with an easy to clean, seamless, self-smoothing flooring resin.
The Products and Materials, Tools and Equipment were sent directly
to the Seychelles which assisted with the completion of works carried
out within the shutdown timeframe, even with the tropical working
temperatures the products worked with amazing results and a very
happy Client.
